Talki is operated by an individual developer based in Romania. By using Talki, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Talki is an AI-powered language-learning app that offers features such as roleplay, debate, tutor mode, vocabulary tools, instant feedback, and optional speech/voice functionality.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the Talki app and services, including account management, learning features, and subscription-related functionality.

3. Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, authentication provider, and user identifier.
  • Profile and onboarding information: name (if provided), selected and native language, level, goals, interests, and preferences.
  • Learning data: saved words, language profile settings, conversation completion history, progress/streak data, and active language settings.
  • Purchase and subscription data: subscription plan, entitlement status, renewal state, and transaction metadata (for example purchase timestamps and transaction identifiers) provided by Apple and processed via RevenueCat.
  • User input content: text you submit in chats, custom scenarios, and custom debate prompts.
  • Voice and speech data: text submitted for cloud text-to-speech generation and speech recognition transcripts produced by device/OS speech services.
  • Technical and security data: authentication tokens, app integrity signals, and service logs needed to protect and operate the platform.

4. How We Use Information

  • To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide customer support.
  • To provide and personalize language-learning features.
  • To process AI-assisted conversations, feedback, and voice-related features.
  • To manage subscriptions and entitlement access.

  • Apple: billing via the App Store and device-level services such as speech recognition (where used).

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies and only as needed to support Talki functionality.

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Provide the Service through trusted processors.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access controls and app integrity protections. However, no internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure.

11. Your Rights and Choices

  • You can update some profile settings in the app.
  • You can stop using Talki at any time.
  • You can request account deletion from the Account page in the app.
  • Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export your personal data.

12. Children's Privacy

Talki is not intended for children under 13. If you believe that personal information from a child under 13 has been provided to Talki, contact us and we will investigate and take appropriate action.
